"Nude, Green Leaves and Bust," which had a pre-sale estimate of between US$70 million and US$90 million, was sold at Christie's auction house to an unidentified telephone bidder. More

22 April 2010Hot on the heels of the record breaking sale of "first class marksman", which sold for $5.4 million earlier this month, a 1956 painting of Ned Kelly has sold for over three times its estimate last night.
The iconic Nolan painting was sold at Sotheby’s in Melbourne for $624,000 including the auction house’s 20% fee. It had been estimated to sell for only $120,000 to $180,000. More
