Patrick Carroll
Born 1949, Patrick Carroll moved to Sydney in 1968 from Bathurst, NSW and began his career as an artist in 1973. For the past 30 years his paintings have captured the heart and soul of his surrounding landscape, consistently returning to Sydney for his subject matter and inspiration.
Carroll is an exuberant and intuitive artist with a personality to match, who has been painting for over thirty years. With many of his projects, Carroll has concentrated his energies and desire to give time to the development and production of a substantial body of work that is of a historical, psychological and social nature. He has a love of the landscape, the bush, the hills and the city. This basic landscape as narrative is balanced by his expressive execution and used as a platform to play out the act of painting, which is bold and vibrant. Carroll's thorough enjoyment of painting is evident through the essence and grandeur reflected in his confident brushstrokes and dramatic colours.
Carroll's work is held in numerous private and corporate collections in Australia, UK, Japan, USA, Europe and New Zealand.
