Our history

Smith & Hall (formerly Galleries Direct) have been serving Australian art lovers and savvy investors for over 4 years.

The story, however, began several years previously.

A young couple, both art lovers, were looking to build wealth for their future each made a decision to invest money in some way.

One of them bought shares and the other spent the money on an original piece of art.

That young couple was our Director Cameron Hall and Tiffany Smith. After achieving an astonishing investment return on the artwork, Cameron was encouraged to write the business plan for an art business with a return on investment model that became Galleries Direct.

Like any healthy enterprise, our company has blossomed from its beginnings in 2004. With our expanding range of high quality artworks and specialisation in art as an investment, we wanted to bring a fresh face to the business.

In 2009, Smith & Hall was born.

The new name reflects the two individuals who were the inspiration behind our business.
